Physiotherapy Oakleigh: Sports Injury and Pain Recovery
Pain and injury disrupt everything else. Our Oakleigh physiotherapy team gives you a 45 minute initial consultation, rather than the 15 or 20 minutes that is common elsewhere, so there is time to understand the problem properly before treating it.
The clinic is at 37-41 Warrigal Road, Hughesdale, a four minute walk from Oakleigh Station and minutes from Eaton Mall. We see patients from Oakleigh and Oakleigh East, Hughesdale and Huntingdale, Chadstone and Mount Waverley, Bentleigh East and Ashburton, Carnegie and Murrumbeena. Book online in about a minute, or call (03) 9853 7836.

He treats sports injuries, running injuries and pre and post-operative rehabilitation, and has particular experience with shoulder injuries and lower back pain. Conditions We Treat at Our Oakleigh Physio Clinic
Whether you are an athlete with a sports injury, an office worker with chronic back pain, or recovering from surgery, you get hands-on therapy alongside a personalised exercise programme. Tap a condition below, or call (03) 9853 7836. All health funds are accepted with HICAPS claiming on site.
Back, Neck Pain
Neck and back pain, often caused by stress or poor posture, can disrupt daily activities and spread discomfort to the shoulders or head. Hayden Wishart has extensive experience with lower back pain, working on relieving it, restoring movement and addressing what caused it, so the relief lasts.
Chest Pain
Chest pain related to musculoskeletal issues can come from injuries, poor posture or overuse. Our treatment focuses on finding the source of the discomfort, reducing pain and improving movement, so you can breathe and move more freely. Chest pain has other causes too, so see your GP or call 000 if it is sudden, severe, or comes with breathlessness.
Growing Pains
Growing pains affect children and teenagers, causing discomfort in the legs or joints while they develop. We offer gentle, targeted therapy and advice to reduce the pain, support healthy growth and keep young ones active.
Headaches, Migraines
Headaches and migraines can come from tension, posture problems or the neck. We treat those underlying causes with hands-on work and exercise, which for many people reduces how often the headaches arrive and how hard they hit.
Joint Strains
Joint strains from an injury or a repeated movement limit what you can do and hurt while you do it. We work on reducing the pain, restoring the joint’s function and strengthening what surrounds it, so the recovery holds.
Muscle Strains
Muscle strains come from overuse, poor posture or a sudden movement. Treatment focuses on settling the pain, rebuilding strength and restoring flexibility, so you return to your normal activities quickly and safely.
Overuse Injuries
Overuse injuries build up from repeated load and are common in anyone training regularly. You get a rehabilitation plan for the injury itself and the training changes that keep it from coming back.
Osteoarthritis
Osteoarthritis causes joint pain and stiffness that gets in the way of everyday movement. Treatment aims to settle the inflammation, improve how the joint works and strengthen the muscles around it, so you move with more comfort.
Pelvic Floor Problems
Pelvic floor problems affect bladder control, posture and core strength. We provide discreet, evidence-based treatment designed to restore function and reduce discomfort.
Posture Issues
Poor posture leads to pain, muscle strain and less movement than you should have. We work on alignment, core strength and how you actually move through a day, rather than telling you to sit up straight.
Sports Injuries
Sports injuries sideline even the most active people. Hayden Wishart works on reducing the pain, getting the tissue healing, and building a return-to-sport program that gets you back with the strength to stay there. He also works with local sporting clubs.

What is the difference between physio and chiro?

Your 45 minute initial consultation covers a full assessment of your condition and medical history, a physical examination to find the cause, a clear diagnosis and your treatment options, hands-on treatment for immediate relief, and a personalised exercise program to take home.
